Baby Shower Favors

By tradition, a baby shower is held only for the mother-to-be with only female guests. Baby showers were originally formed to create an event for women to share wisdom and lessons on the process of becoming a new mother. In some religious traditions, baby showers are held only after the birth of a child. In addition to the party, baby shower favors are also sometimes provided such as coffee, candles, card holders and more.

Baby showers are typically planned by expectant mother’s maid of honor or other close friends. They will arrange this event by sending invitations and providing baby shower gifts. The party itself is centered around gift giving. Typically, the mother-to-be receives newborn related gifts such as diapers, bottles, rags, clothes and toys. Some cultures presume that giving gifts before the baby is born may bring bad luck.
