Baby Shower Favors

Traditionally, a baby shower is held only for the mother-to-be with only female guests. Baby showers were initially formed to create an event for women to share wisdom and lessons on the process of becoming a new mother. In some religious traditions, baby showers are held only after the birth of a child. In addition to the gathering, baby shower favors are also sometimes provided such as coffee, candles, card holders and more.

Baby showers are commonly planned by expectant mother’s maid of honor or other close friends. They will plan this event by sending invitations and providing baby shower gifts. The party itself is centered around gift giving. Typically, the mother-to-be receives newborn related gifts such as diapers, bottles, rags, clothes and toys. Some cultures presume that giving gifts before the baby is born may bring bad luck.
